Amethyst Bed

Amethyst beds make fantastic generators to be used either within a crystal grid or as generator beds on which other crystals are laid for charging. These amethysts are deep violet and the beds we stock are all of a useful size for these purposes.

Amethyst Flowers

Amethyst Flower, which is pale lavender-grey in colour, is used in the same way as regular amethyst bed but has a gentler - though no less powerful - energy. It is less commonly available and therefore more expensive.

Amethyst Points

Ideal as generators in crystal grids, these hexagonally-terminated shaped amethyst points are mid to deep violet in colour. Placed in sunlight or moonlight they are highly absorbent and reflective of light energy. (Note : Long-term exposure to direct sunlight can cause coloured crystal such as amethyst to fade.)

The wand form concentrates crystal energy and permits it to be precisely focussed and this inherent capacity can be magnified by programming the healer's intent. Wands can also be used to draw away and dissipate unwanted negative energies. Wands are indispensable for any kind of energy work involving crystal healing.

Amethyst Sphere

(Approx. 6.5 cm diameter)

Spheres give out energy in all directions equally and have long been used for divination (scrying), opening windows into the past and future. Amethyst promotes intuitive and psychic ability and for this reason is preferred by many as a scrying ball to clear quartz. The optional cushion and cloth which protect the sphere when not in use are made by us. The cushion is made from heavy-gauge 100% cotton black velvet and filled with organic buckwheat hulls and the cloth (in order to achieve correct drape) from black or deep violet crushed velvet. The optional pentagram design on the cloth is embroidered in silver.

Angelite

Formed from Celestite compressed over millennia, Angelite shares many of the properties of Celestite - that is, an intensely spiritual and calming crystal, vibrating in harmony with the New Age consciousness and facilitating spiritual and psychic development. Angelite in its natural state is not commonly found, tumblestones being more readily available.

Apophylite

Apophylite has a powerful vibration and is a highly efficient energy carrier (having a high water content). Its presence in a healing space both calms the person receiving healing and promotes the transmission of healing energy. Specifically, it is widely considered to be 'the stone par excellence to assist Reiki healing' (Judy Hall, 'The Crystal Bible').

Celestite

Celestite, as the name suggests, has celestial associations. This translucent blue form is especially beautiful. Celestite is an intensely spiritual and calming crystal, vibrating in harmony with the New Age consciousness and facilitating spiritual and psychic development. Given these properties it is a very suitable crystal for use in meditation practice. In particular, Celestite is famed for assisting communication with the angelic realm. (Note : Celestite like all coloured crystals can fade if kept for long periods in direct sunlight.)

Citrine (Natural)

Most citrine offered for sale is in fact merely heat-treated amethyst. The heating process turns the purple of the amethyst to an amber-yellow or brownish colour which is, compared to the delicate shades of natural Citrine, harsh in appearance. More importantly, the crystal retains Amethyst properties and does not - cannot - become Citrine as a result of this procedure. Natural Citrine on the other hand is a lemon or honey tinted clear crystal of great beauty and is comparatively rare and consequently more expensive. Citrine is a rare instance of a crystal that never requires cleansing so pure is it and one of its main properties is in dispelling negative energies and protecting spaces, auras and objects.

Kunzite

Kunzite can induce a deep and centred meditative state and is particularly helpful in that regard for those new to meditation. Kunzite is associated most closely with the heart chakra and in particular can bring about harmony between the heart and throat chakra (for example, enabling loving communications or facilitating longed-for creativity). It is also a powerfully protective crystal with a particular application to cleansing and protecting the aura from negative energies and unwanted attachments.

Merlinite

Merlinite balances complementarities - male and female energies, conscious and unconscious, earthly and spiritual for example. As its name implies, Merlinite is a crystal which is considered to hold an accessible record of past magical and shamanic wisdom and it is therefore a crystal which has a particular application in energy clearing and magic ritual. Merlinite is also considered to be a powerful aid to divination and to work on past-lives.

Petalite

Also known as 'Angel Stone' because of its role in facilitating angelic connection, Angelite is a rare crystal with an exceptionally high, pure vibration. Indeed, Petalite is an extremely potent crystal for spiritual work of many kinds (for example, meditation, pathworking, energy clearing, detaching negative influences) as it is grounding, energising and highly protective at the same time. A very special stone to have and use.

Phenacite

Phenacite has one of the highest vibrations of any crystal and is particularly famed as a bridge between this world and the Angelic Realm and between human consciousness and the consciousness of more highly evolved spiritual entities (sometimes referred to as 'Ascended Masters'). Phenacite resonates with the etheric body, aligning the vibrations of higher beings and earthly beings so as to provide a connection and a means for personal spiritual development or, as it is sometimes referred to, ascension.

These rare and beautiful Phenacite crystals are tiny (0.5 - 0.75 cm approximately) yet replete with all the properties described above.

Prehnite

A good stone for meditation and visualisation and for putting one in touch with one's higher self. Prehnite is also widely endorsed for facilitating connection with the Angelic Realm - in particular, the energy of the Archangel Raphael. Dubbed 'the crystal to heal the healer' (Judy Hall, 'The Crystal Bible') Prehnite has a particular role in enabling prophetic visions and in pointing the way forward to one's further spiritual development.

Clear Quartz

Clear quartz is arguably the most essential crystal for healing and energy work, possessing a remarkable reputation for super-charging the work being undertaken and yet modulating the output to the needs and capacities of the recipient at that moment. In meditation clear quartz is regarded as a powerful aid to excluding distractions and enhancing focus. Clear quartz is generally also considered to be the optimal crystal for programming because of its limitless ability to absorb and store spiritual information in a way that can be subsequently accessed and this accounts for the pre-eminent position of clear quartz for divination (scrying).

There are numerous other forms of quartz and of these Rose Quartz is in our view the most indispensable. It is the crystal of choice for any form of emotional healing and especially associated with the heart chakra.

Candle Quartz

Selenite

The white form of selenite is translucent or semi-translucent and is distinguished by a very fine surface ribbing. Reflecting its appearance - semi-visible matter - selenite is considered to offer a link between the physical and etheric body and an aid to accessing higher guidance. Selenite, because of these properties, is especially associated with the crown chakra and selenite spheres have a long history of use in divination. More generally, selenite is a calming crystal which can confer a state of peace and as such is widely used in meditation practice as well as in the home for protection and peace.

Angel's Wing Selenite (also called 'Fishtail Selenite') has a particular connection with the Angelic realm.

Seraphinite

As its name implies, Seraphinite (sometimes called 'Serafina') is one of the crystals famed for making angelic connections. Indeed, like Angel's Wing Selenite it is an outstanding example of the doctrine of signatures, being characterised by silvery angel's wing feathering against a dark grey-green background. A powerful crystal for meditation, Seraphinite opens up the higher chakras and enables spiritual growth. Seraphinite is also considered particularly useful for promoting out-of-body experience (again, the characteristic 'wings' sign the way).

Staurolite (Fairy Stones)

Tradition has it that this crystal, which naturally exhibits a dark and raised cruciform marking, was formed from tears shed by fairies at the news of the death of Jesus. However, it has a long non-Christian history, particularly as a talisman for protection or good luck and it is also used to strengthen spiritual and magic rituals. All of our crystals exhibit a complete cruciform.

Watermelon Tourmaline

(approx. 3 - 5 cm diameter)

Watermelon tourmaline combines the two colours to which the heart chakra resonates most strongly (pink and green) and is the most powerful activator of the heart chakra and so indispensable for deep work on emotional issues. Moreover, Watermelon Tourmaline acts to dissolve any unconscious resistance to healing, making it a truly important healing crystal to have available. It is comparatively rare and these polished slices, ideal for a crystal lay-out, are beautiful - hold them up to the light to see the full watermelon effect.
